President's  Welcome

On behalf of the management of the Centre for Agricultural and Applied Economic Sciences of the University of Debrecen, it is my honour to welcome you to the renewed website of our institution. Thank you for your interest in our historical university and in our economic and agricultural higher education activities, which dates back more than 140 years.

The roots of higher education in our institution go back to the middle of the 19th century.  1868 marked the foundation of the Debrecen National School of Agriculture. After a series of changes, this first Trans –Tisza institution of agricultural higher education was re-established in 1953, as the Agricultural Academy of Debrecen, then in 1962 it was given the name Agricultural College. The Agricultural University of Debrecen was founded in 1970. Continue
